Amy Poehler brings "Broad City" to Comedy Central

Amy Poehler is bringing "Broad City" to Comedy Central.

The cable network has picked up a 10-episode series order of "Broad City," and an adaptation of the web series starring Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer to be produced by Amy Poehler.

Broad City revolves around two friends (Jacobson and Glazer) as they navigate their way through life in New York City. The digital series started as a sketch idea at the Upright Citizens Brigade, the comedy group that Poehler was a member of.

"Finally, there's a television show set in New York City," Comedy Central original programming president Kent Alterman said of the series, nodding to HBO's "Girls." "I'm immensely proud that we have done it first."

Added Poehler: "I'm excited to work with Comedy Central and introduce Abbi and Ilana to America. And all the other countries. And also Mars. We've got big plans."

Poehler will executive produce the series, which will launch in 2014, alongside Jacobson, Glazer, 3 Arts' Dave Becky and Generate's Sam Saifer, with Tony Hernandez as a co-EP.

And while we'd love to see the "Parks and Recreation" star in front of the camera, we'll take that hilarious "broad" any way we can, including behind the scenes.

Tell us: Are you excited to see what Poehler can do in "Broad City"?
