Caroline Kennedy, the previously publicity-shy daughter of JFK, is putting out feelers about a possible appointment to replace Hillary Clinton, according to Democratic insiders.
The usually spot-on AP team of Barrett and Fouhy is reporting that Kennedy has already spoken to Gov. David Paterson, citing unnamed sources. We haven't been able to confirm that: But we are told that she has spoken to at least one top New York Democrat about the job once held by her uncle Bobby.
"She's willing to step into the spotlight now," an insider tells us. "Now that her kids are basically grown up she's very interested."
