You don't have to rely on pricey iTunes downloads to stock your iPhone with video. Movavi Online will convert just about any clip to iPhone-compatible H.264 format, and you don't even have to download or install anything. Just head to the site, choose up to five videos to upload (no larger than 100MB each), and then select the iPhone output format. (The service can also convert to iPod, cell phone, MPEG-4, and other formats). Type in your e-mail address, click Convert, and go about your business. When the conversion is complete, you'll receive an e-mail with a link to download the new file. In my quick tests, it took just a few minutes to upload a 12MB clip, and my confirmation e-mail arrived just a few minutes after that.
Movavi Online is free to use. Although it's not the first online video-conversion service of its kind, it's the first one I've seen to specify iPhone support. And there's another nice perk: You can add a video-conversion widget to your Web site, a great little value-add for anyone in the A/V business.
