David Letterman has kept a pretty low profile since retiring from “The Late Show” in May 2015, but one important cause is bringing him back to TV.
Letterman will return to television next month for the new season of National Geographic’s climate change-themed series “Years of Living Dangerously,” and the first promo clip gives a glimpse of how passionate he is about alternative energy sources.
“I’ve created, excuse the expression, kind of a love affair with this,” Letterman said in the clip. “Think about the coal-fired, dangerous, smoke-belching generating plants, and then you look at this and it’s friendly. There’s something very appealing about this, and it’s smooth. Look at it: I can touch it and it’s safe. I put my head right there on it.”
But he still has his sense of humor, he quickly proves.
“Years of Living Dangerously” premieres Oct. 30 and will also feature Arnold Schwarzenegger, America Ferrera and Aasif Mandvi.
