Drama Builds in Late "No Way Home" Voting

Late viewer voting continues to bring good news for a Newport, Oregon lighthouse vieing to become the starting point for "Early Show" weather anchor Dave Price in his upcoming "No Way Home" trek.

The Yaquina Head Lighthouse was eating into the once seemingly insurmountable lead of Anchorage, Alaska as viewers cast their ballots -- both online and by mobile phone.

The latest results (mobile phone and online combined) show Alaska ahead, with 40 percent of the total vote, as opposed to 36 percent for the lighthouse -- and the difference continues to shrink.

The big question seems to be -- is there enough time for Oregon? Voting ends at noon Eastern Standard Time on Wednesday.

Dave will begin his weeklong trek with only a one-way ticket, $50, some technical devices (including a Windows Phone provided by Microsoft to record his travels) and his wits and wisdom to get him back home to New York. He'll be depending in large part on the kindness of strangers.

"The Early Show" is leaving it up to viewers to decide the place from which they'd like to see him set out.

The choices:

San Diego, San Francisco, Newport, Oregon, Seattle, or Anchorage, Alaska

The attractions in play are:

San Diego Zoo
Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco
Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Newport, Oregon
Pike Place Market in Seattle
Anchorage, Alaska
