Hack Your Sleep Habits

sleep.jpgYou've been here before: For some reason you didn't sleep well last night, and now you're lurching around the office like a zombie, unable to concentrate or jittery as hell from all the coffee you drank. This happens to everyone occasionally, but if it's becoming a regular occurrence, it's time to take action. According to Web blog The Ririan Project, there are five ways to get better sleep. For example, harness the power of the sun:

Most people can get away with some wildness in their routines as long as they soak up some bright light at the right time. Normal indoor lighting provides 400 lux of illumination, which doesn't help much; the sun, however, provides 1,500 to 100,000 lux. So if you spend one hour outdoors before starting work you will be more alert and cheerful during the day.
It's nice to see some emphasis on the quality of sleep rather than the quantity. Lately I've found that I sleep much better if I wear earplugs (especially when traveling), even if it's not particularly noisy around me. What's your favorite get-a-good-night's-sleep tip?
