There's no reason for the winter doldrums to take over your closet.

This season, and for spring and summer, prints are the fashion must-have. They are a great way to add some sparkle to your wardrobe.

Suze Yalof Schwartz, executive fashion editor-at-large at Glamour magazine,

The Early Show and says shoppers should focus on great "talking" pieces. She says you don't need to buy a lot to get a lot out of this look.

The right items fall easily into your regular outfits. For instance, a print shirt with a dark suit. And, as always, there are steals and splurges to choose from.

Look No. 1: Printed Cropped Coat
The cropped blazer is a must this season. Pair the printed blazer with winter white pants or jeans and you will be sure to stand out.

  • Old Navy jacket: $29.50

  • Tracy Reese jacket: $300

What's the difference: The fabric and the attention to a better cut and shape of the Tracy Reese jacket account for the price. You can see the additional flair on the sleeves of the more expensive jacket.

    Look No. 2: Printed Dress
Chic for both spring and summer, a printed dress will make sure you are noticed at every event. And it's great for both day and night.

  • Spiegel dress: $99

  • Theory dress: $395

What's the difference: The fabrics are viscose vs. silk chiffon. But you are also paying for the name.

    Look No. 3: Printed Skirt
The printed skirt is another head-turner this season. You can pair it with a cashmere sweater to keep you warm now, or with a T-shirt in the summer. Cinch your waist with a thick brown belt so it shows off your figure.

  • H&M skirt: $29.50

  • Akris skirt: $590

What's the difference: Once again, the fabrics are the same and, in this case, the "steal" skirt has more detailing. You are probably paying for the name with the Akris skirt.
