(CBS) - Relationships on social networks can be complicated. Organizing your friends, family and followers in Facebook or Google+ has been like online acrobatics. Luckily, there's an app for that. Enter, Katango, a new iPhone app that creates groups with a simple interface.
The app, formerly known as Cafebots and backed by the venture capitalist firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byer, automatically creates a sample group of friends and allows you to create new ones.
Katango doesn't change any settings in Facebook. It only allows you to select the people who gets to see your wall post. The status update appears in the news feed and wall in accordance with those settings.
The timing couldn't be better for this app's developer. The current debate over Google+ Circles versus Facebook Groups has been heating up. Anything that will simplify the process of organizing friends is a welcome addition.
