(CBS) Singer Kellie Pickler, who eloped in the Caribbean last month, told talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres that it was the wedding guest list that pushed her over the edge.
"We were almost finished with planning, we had already done the cake and the flowers and all that," the 2005 "American Idol" alumna told DeGeneres Wednesday. "And every time we got to the guest list, it was like, 'Oh my God, I hate half these people!'"
Pickler, 24, and songwriter Kyle Jacobs were married New Years Day on a private island. "It was the most incredible day of my life," she said on the TV show.
She said she had the date inscribed in Jacobs' wedding ring along with the words, "Put it back on."
"So if he takes it off and he looks at it, it's going to say, 'Put it back on.'"
Her songs include the top 10 hit she co-wrote with Taylor Swift, "Best Days of Your Life," as well as "Don't You Know You're Beautiful," and her most recent single, "Makin' Me Fall in Love Again."
