Montgomerie Honored By Queen
Colin Montgomerie received the Member of the British Empire medal Wednesday from Queen Elizabeth II, an honor he called "the most important to me as a British citizen."
The 35-year-old Scot, wearing a kilt, was accompanied to Buckingham Palace by his wife, Eimar, and his eldest daughter, Olivia, and he dedicated the medal to his family.

"It's a wonderful day for the family, it's a family day today. Not just for myself, for they deserve a lot of credit as well," he said. "They deserve this award as much as I do, I must admit."
The award capped a week in which Montgomerie, with his third place in the season-ending Volvo Masters, finished as the PGA European Tour's leading money winner for the sixth consecutive season.
He won £993,077.45 on the European tour.
