Irvine, Calif. startup Projjix has raised about $900,000 of for its online consulting marketplace, where companies can connect with independent consultants offering specific expertise. According to a description on the Projjix website, the vision is to allow companies to “move away from rigid consulting firm contracts that carry significant risk and towards smaller, specialized consulting contracts that generate results” while consultants can “be liberated from traditional firms and traditional engagement models and will deliver their expertise in new and innovative ways.” Projjix gets a fee whenever a project is initiated. The company is led by Jim Hazboun who was previously a senior director at consulting firm Resources Global. Projjix General Counsel Michael Christian tell us the company is not disclosing who invested in the round. He says the company is no longer looking for additional cash.
