The USA soccer team kicks off its tricky World Cup qualifier match against Mexico’s national side later today (4pm ET/1pm PT), but if you’re still at work you could watch the whole thing for free on Futbolestar.tv, from Spanish-language online publisher Terra USA and NBCU-owned Latin American broadcaster Telemundo. The match is being streamed live and for Spanish speakers there’s all manner of interviews and stats (such as the fact the the U.S. team hasn’t won in Mexico in 23 attempts). [Ed. Note: Yes, this is written by a Brit.]
Broadcasters have traditionally shown more interest in securing the rights to European soccer action than international games or even the domestic MLS competition—ESPN went one step further and this season will show one third of English Premier League matches live in the UK.
