In the morning, President Obama will get his daily briefings and then meet with senior advisers.
Later, he will meet with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper at the White House.
In the afternoon, the president and first lady will host an event on the South Lawn to promote Chicago's bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Following the event, Mr. Obama will meet separately with Colin Powell and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates in the Oval Office.
In the evening, Mr. Obama will deliver remarks at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute's 32nd Annual Awards Gala at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
