This season, tweed is the theme when it comes to fashion.
Linda Wells, the editor-in-chief at "Allure" magazine, offers these tips on looking fantastic without spending a fortune.
Tweed jackets in particular have really been hot this season. Some say it's the influence of the ever-classic Chanel tweed jacket. For this fall and winter, you can count on tweed to be an important theme.
Tweed this season is modern and sophisticated due to more tailored outfits, fitted silhouettes, and textures. Expect feminine, fitted, and sexy looks, and not a frumpy, matronly outfit.
You'll also see another trend of mixing different fabrics with tweed. Embellished items are hot, and you'll see embellishments on tweed. You'll also find tweed mixed with prints and softer fabrics like silk.
3/4 TWEED COAT
This look is mixed with leopard print. This unusual combination really works. Remember that when you're mixing tweed with a pattern, make sure they are of the same color tone. The proportion of dress to jacket at knee length is important with this look; you do not want to wear a mini-skirt with a 3/4 length jacket. These jackets are great for wearing with jeans and flats as well. You'll get great mileage out of these jackets because you can wear them dressed up or down.
