After police shot and killed an African-American man, Keith Lamont Scott, in Charlotte, North Carolina, hundreds of protesters took to the streets for two straight nights. The governor declared a state of emergency.
The unrest began at the scene of Tuesday’s deadly shooting of Scott, 43, in an apartment complex, and quickly escalated, turning violent.
