Hurricane Hermine barreled ashore in Florida’s Big Bend early Friday, September 2, 2016, as the first hurricane to hit the state in more than a decade. By Friday afternoon, it had weakened to a tropical storm with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph. Hermine then moved into the Carolinas and is rolling up the East Coast.
